湿度が高く蒸し暑いです。(It’s muggy and humid.)

気温が高くても湿度が低ければ、すっきりした暑さです。(Even if the temperature is high, if the humidity is low, it can be a refreshing heat.)

しかし、残念ながら、東京の夏は、湿度の高くて疲れます。(Unfortunately, however, summers in Tokyo are tiring because of the high humidity.)

東京は、まだ、梅雨には入っていないようです。(It seems that Tokyo has not yet entered the rainy season.)

雪が、ほとんど溶けた富士山が見えました。(I could see Mount Fuji, with most of the snow having melted.)

久しぶりに、渋谷に行きました。(Today I went to Shibuya for the first time in a while.)

約１０年ぶりに見た忠犬ハチ公は、昔と同じでした。(I saw the loyal dog Hachiko for the first time in about 10 years and he looked the same as he did back then.)

今は、東京都知事選の最中です。(The Tokyo gubernatorial election is currently underway.)

ハチ公のそばで一人の候補者が話していました。(A candidate was speaking next to Hachiko.)

日本列島の西のほうから梅雨に入りました。(The rainy season has begun in the western part of the Japanese archipelago.)

庭の花の咲く様子が、変わってきてます。(The way flowers bloom in the garden is changing.)

スカシユリが咲いてます。(The lilies are in bloom.)

ヤマユリやカサブランカは蕾です。(The mountain lilies and Casablanca lilies are in bud.)

アストロメリアは依然と咲いています。(The astromeria is still in bloom.)

カスミソウが満開です。(The baby’s breath is in full bloom.)

ダリアも咲いています。(The dahlias are also blooming.)

ブラックベリーやヤマブドウの実が、少し、大きくなりました。(The blackberries and wild grape berries have grown a little larger.)

アジサイのアナベルが咲き始めました。(The Annabelle hydrangeas have started to bloom.)

今年は、花菖蒲が咲きました。(This year, the irises have bloomed.)

この季節は、楽しいです。(This season is fun.)

用事で久しぶりに東京の都心に行きました。(I went to central Tokyo for the first time in a while on business.)

最初は新宿です。高層ビルばかりの中に子育て地蔵がありホッとしました。(My first stop was Shinjuku. I was relieved to see a child-rearing Jizo statue amidst all the high-rise buildings.)

両国の慰霊塔には、関東大震災の行方不明者が埋葬されています。(The Ryogoku Memorial Tower is where those missing from the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923 are buried.)

祖母が、慰霊塔の中に入っているので、時々、お参りに行きます。(My grandmother is inside the tower, so I sometimes go to pray there.)

被害にあった機械などが展示してあります。(Machines that were affected by the disaster are on display.)

敷地内の日本庭園も静かでした。(The Japanese garden on the premises was also peaceful.)

真夏のように暑い日があったり、雨が降ったりしています。(There are hot days like midsummer, and sometimes it rains.)

昨日の夜から雨が降りました。(It has been raining since last night.)

５月５日は、端午の節句です。(May 5th is Boys’ Festival.)
端午の節句は、鯉のぼりや五月人形などを飾り、柏餅やちまきを食べ、男の子の誕生を祝い、健やかな成長を祈るのが一般的です。(During Boy’s Festival, it is common to decorate with carp streamers and May dolls, eat kashiwamochi and chimaki, celebrate the birth of a baby boy, and pray for his healthy growth.)
また、新緑が、きれいな季節です。(It is also the season when the fresh greenery is beautiful.)

イチゴの実が赤くなりだしました。(The strawberries are starting to turn red.)

４月の後半には、夏のように暑い日があります。(In the second half of April, there are summer-like hot days.)

我が家の庭は、サツキが咲き始めます。(Satsuki is starting to bloom in our garden.)

その他の花たちも咲き始めて、華やかな庭になります。(Other flowers are starting to bloom, making the garden look gorgeous.)

人工授粉した後の梨に小さな実がつきました。(A small fruit has grown on the pear after being artificially pollinated.)

満開の桜の下から、見上げるとその美しさに感動します。(When you look up from under the cherry blossoms in full bloom, I will be impressed by their beauty.)

今日、友人と遠方の公園に桜を見に行きました。(Today, I went to a distant park to see the cherry blossoms with a friend.)

まだ、桜の花の開花は、7、8分咲きでした。(The cherry blossoms were still in bloom for about 7 or 8 minutes.)

満開でなく残念でした。(It was a pity that it wasn’t in full bloom.)

桜を見るとホッとします。(I feel relieved when I see cherry blossoms.)

公園には、蒸気機関車も飾ってありました。(A steam locomotive was also displayed in the park.)

4月１週目は、曇りや雨の日が続きます。(The first week of April will continue to be cloudy and rainy.)

それでも、植物は、動き始めているようです。(Still, the plants seem to be starting to move.)

雑草の中にきれいな花が、咲いてたりします。(Beautiful flowers are blooming among the weeds.)

餅米の周りに小豆を付けたぼた餅を食べます。(Eat botamochi, which is mochi rice with red beans around it.)

私は明日、姉たちと実家のお墓参りに行きます。(I’m going to visit my parents’ grave with my sisters tomorrow.)

お彼岸の意味→仏教では、この世を「此岸（しがん）」、故人のいる世界を「彼岸（ひがん）」と呼んでいます。((Meaning of Equinox → In Buddhism, this world is called Shigan,'' and the world where the deceased lives is calledHigan.”)

春のお彼岸とは、彼岸と此岸の距離が最も近くなる時期にご先祖を供養する行事のことです。 The spring equinox is an event to commemorate our’s ancestors at the time when the equinox and this shore are the closest.)

お墓参りに行きました。途中、湖の公園で花も見られました。(We went to visit the grave. On the way, we also saw flowers at the lake park.)

今年は、桜の開花が遅れています。(This year, the cherry blossoms bloom late.)

レウィシアやエーデルワイスを植えたいので、ロックガーデンを作ってみました。(I wanted to plant Lewisia and Edelweiss, so I made a rock garden.)

3月末、雨が続きました。今日だけ晴れで、明日、明後日は、雨だそうです。(
