１２月になって、霜が、昨日と今日おりました。(It’s December, and there was frost yesterday and today.)

富士山も雪をかぶっています。(Mt. Fuji is also covered with snow.)

電車の線路の向こうに見える富士山が印象深かったです。(The view of Mt. Fuji beyond the train tracks left a deep impression on me.)

今年は、2坪のビニルハウスとソーラーパネル２枚とポータブル蓄電池を準備しました。(This year, we prepared a 2 tsubo vinyl house, 2 solar panels, and a portable storage battery.)

今まで、露地でイチゴを作ってきました。(Until now, I have been growing strawberries outdoors.)

今年は不出来でした。孫の食べさせることができなくてがっかりです。(This year it wasn’t successful. I’m disappointed that I can’t feed my grandson.)

ご近所の専業農家さんの真似をして、低コストで始められる方法で、ハウスイチゴにトライしています。(I am trying to grow house strawberries using a low-cost method, imitating the full-time farmers in my neighborhood.)

現在、３分の２は花や実をつけています。(Currently, two-thirds of the plants are producing flowers and fruit.)

秋が進んで、１０度以下の寒い日もあります。(As autumn progresses, there are days when the temperature is below 10 degrees.)

でも、天気の良い日は、外の仕事も楽しいです。(However, when the weather is nice, I enjoy working outside.)

暑すぎず、寒すぎずで動きやすいです。(It’s neither too hot nor too cold, making it easy to move around.)

23日、雪をかぶった富士山が見えました。(On the 23rd, I saw Mt. Fuji capped with snow.)

１０日から急に気温が下がり寒くなりました。

今までが、あまりにも温かかったのでなれるのが大変です。

今日から11月です。(It’s November from today.)

菊の花が開き始めました。(Chrysanthemum flowers are starting to open.)

まだ、霜が降りるほど寒くありません。(It’s not cold enough to cause frost yet.)

最近は、秋晴れが続いています。(Lately, the weather has been sunny in autumn.)

気温も動きやすい温度です。(The temperature is also comfortable for movement.)

９月に植えたビーツやコールラビ・グランドデュークや蕪も大きくなっています。(The beets, Kohlrabi/Grand Duke, and turnips that we planted in September are also getting bigger.)

四季なりイチゴも少しずつ成っています。(As the seasons change, strawberries grow little by little.)

花の苗も大きくなっています。(The flower seedlings are also getting bigger.)

野菜の値段が高くなっているので菜っ葉類の種をまきました。(Since the price of vegetables is getting high, I sowed seeds of leafy vegetables.)

芽が出たところです。(It has just sprouted.)

涼しくなりました。(It got cooler.)

秋晴れで気持ちがよいです。(It is sunny and pleasant in autumn.)

川沿いの道を歩くといろいろな雑草があって楽しいです。(When I walk along the riverside, I enjoy seeing all kinds of weeds.)

また、紅葉が始まった木もあります。(In addition, there are trees that have begun to turn red.)

4月に種を植えたジニアが、今、咲きました。(The zinnias I planted in April are now blooming.)

高山植物のホトトギスも夏を乗り越え咲きました。(The alpine plant Hototogis also bloomed through the summer.)

早生ミカン、ブドウ、ナシ、柿、など果実が豊富です。(There is an abundance of fruits such as early mandarin oranges, grapes, pears, plums and persimmons.)

おいしそうに果実売り場にあります。(It looks delicious and is placed in the fruit section.)

今日は、安売りしていたシャインマスカットを買いました。(Today, I bought Shine Muscat that was on sale at a bargain price.)

我が家には、ブドウ、ミカン、柿、梨の木があります。(We have grape, tangerine, persimmon, and pear trees at our house.)

現在、収穫できるのはミカンと柿です。(Currently, we can only harvest mandarin oranges and persimmons.)

9月29日は中秋の名月です。(September 29th is the Harvest Moon.)

一番美しい月とされています。(It is considered the most beautiful moon.)

そして、今年は満月です。(And,this year there is a full moon.)
中秋の名月の日には、お月見をする風習がありました。(On the day of the harvest moon in mid-autumn, there was a custom of viewing the moon.)
子供のころ、縁側にススキと野菜とお団子が飾ってあるのを覚えています。(When I was a child, I remember seeing pampas grass, vegetables, and dumplings displayed on the porch. )
子供は各家を回ってお菓子をもらいました。(The children went from house to house and received sweets.)
楽しみだったことを覚えています。(I remember looking forward to it.)

「暑さ寒さも彼岸まで」という言葉があります。(There is a saying that goes, “The heat and the cold are all the way to the equinox.”)

しかし、最近は、当てはまらないような気がしています。(But lately, I feel like that’s not the case.)

３０年くらい前は９月１３日頃を境目にして涼しくなった記憶があります。(I remember that about 30 years ago, it started to get cooler around September 13th.)

最近は、１７日になっても蒸し暑いです。(Lately, it’s been hot and humid even on the 17th.)

まだ、昼間は夏のようです。(It still feels like summer during the day.)

９月に植えた花の種は順調に出始めています。(The flower seeds planted in September are starting to emerge smoothly.)

近くの郵便局で入口に花を植えています。(Flowers are being planted at the entrance of a nearby post office.)

今、秋の花が咲いています。(Autumn flowers are blooming now.)

可憐な花が可愛いです。(The pretty flowers are cute.)
