紅葉が目につきます。

久しぶりにお日様が出ました。(The sun came out after a long time.)

昨日までは寒かったので(Because it was cold until yesterday)

簡易ビニールハウスに苗やハイビスカスやブーゲンビレアを入れました。(I put seedlings, hibiscus and bougainvillea in a simple greenhouse.)

８月に亡くなった兄の四十九日がありました。(There was the 49th day of my brother who passed away in August.)

住職さんから四十九日の意味が説明されました。(The chief priest explained the meaning of the 49 days.)

【人は亡くなって四十九日後に仏のもとへ向かうとされています。その四十九日までの間、七日ごとに閻魔様の裁きを受け、四十九日に極楽浄土に行けるかどうかの最後の審判を受けます。故人が極楽浄土に行けるように、遺族も七日ごとに祈ることで故人に善行を足していきます。故人の審判が下る四十九日が一番重要だと考えられているため、その日に盛大な法要を行い、供養するというわけです。

また、四十九日は「忌明け」、つまり喪に服していた遺族が日常生活に戻る日でもあるとされています。】
